Because of the amount of enlargement your uploaded photo will undergo during final production, it must be tightly cropped, in focus and well lit to ensure the best possible printing result. So please, carefully review the information below before you begin to make your message board.
iOS and Android smart phones - Use one that
has at least a 12 megapixel rear facing camera.
Digital cameras - Really good for close-ups. Use
one that is no less than 24 megapixel capable.
Pro photography - It would be great to use an
existing photo of your athlete that was taken by
a professional sports photographer.
For a player message board, frame your subject so that only the player’s waist up to the top of the player’s head, hat or helmet is visible. Use a portrait (vertical) orientation.
For a photo message board, just make sure that you get as close to the subject matter as possible before taking the photo. Use a landscape (horizontal) orientation.
Sunny overcast days and sunny early morning and late afternoon hours provide the best lighting conditions. Do not shoot in direct, intense sunlight - late morning thru early afternoon.
If you want to take a photo inside your home, pick a room where there is plenty of bright, indirect light to evenly illuminate the front of your player.
